Hoya krohniana 'Black' is a rare, low-maintenance, vining houseplant with small, heart-shaped leaves that turn black under the right conditions. It's also known as the wax plant, and is native to Southeast Asia. The plant has thick, waxy leaves that help it retain water in the heat. It produces white flowers in clusters, and the fuzz on the blooms can develop a lavender hue. Hoya krohniana 'Black' prefers a warm, humid environment with bright, indirect light. It can be grown in hanging baskets or trained up a trellis or support pole.
